Day 3 – CEO Undercover Uber Project
Tuesday November 1, 2016
This morning, I decided I would try and pick up passengers on my way to work around 8:30 a.m. As I was on the highway, I received requests from people who were not easily accessible. I even received one request for a food delivery, which I did not accept although I could have gone for an Egg McMuffin. Then, all of the sudden, the app grounded me for 45 minutes because I had been online for so long and not picked a passenger up yet. Basically, I was punished for not accepting an Uber request. So from 8:30-10 on my drive to work, I was yet again unsuccessful in finding a suitable passenger for my trip.
I figured I would stay late at work tonight and try to take people home from the Adele concert at the American Airlines Center. But since that probably won’t be done until 10:30-11, and I’ve been up since about 4 a.m., I decided it was time to go home. Overall, today was unsuccessful in picking up passengers, and most importantly making a profit, but I did learn some new rules about Uber. Don’t wait too long to accept a passenger, they might just put you in time out!
